Greetings, citizens.
I've been eyeing up a new netbook for a while, I love my Eee 900 for its portability but it is getting elderly now (4 years ish) and the battery is a bit shagged - I'm lucky to get an hour away from the mains.
Looking in the papers last weekend, I saw Best Buy had a clearance on, so went down and picked up one of these..
Vaio M13 Blue
Seems a typical Sony bit of kit, nice screen, nice keyboard (I can kind of touch type on this with my sausage fingers as opposed to the two finger style of the Eee). Reading the reviews, it's not the best on battery life but the typical 4-5 hours is enough for me and much better than the Eee, even when it was new.
It came with W7 starter pre-installed but I've added Ubuntu as a dual-boot and it flies under that, and everything seems to work "out of the box" so no tinkering required. Result.
As it was on clearance it was £80 under list and came in at sub £200. If you're in the market, you could do a lot worse for the money.
Cheers,
Plug
