New HU. Factory sub only works when TA on!?!

Hi,

Bought a new Sony Head Unit, swapped for the factory one.

The sub (factory built in) doesn't work with the wiring. No signal.

After fiddling with every dial the bass suddenly seemed to work, then a traffic announcement came on so I turned TA off, then the bass disappeared.

I know can clearly see the TA option, when on, turns my sub on.:bang:

Does TA boost some electrical signal of some sort? and if so what wire does this go down, and correspond to, on the fiat stereo wiring block/s?

A bit technical, but help and or suggestions greatly appreciated!!!

Are you sure that it is just when the ta is on. Have you tried it with the radio. It sounds like the remote wire which switches the sub amp on is connected to the auto antenna. When the ant gets power ie when radio is on the amp gets power.

Actually yes sub comes on when radio on, and when TA switched on with a cd.

DEFINATELY only with TA selected (tries LOTS times!)

Sorry I'm a bit confused. So it doesn't work with radio on but TA off.

It works always when the radio is on (wether TA is on or not the sub still is active), then when I turn CD on and play a cd, there is no bass until TA is selected.

Ok so by the looks of it you need to locate the Aut Ant and and splice the Blue remote wire into it. That should solve the problem. Its strange as other people on here are having different problems with different solutions all for the standard sub
