Pah! Damned new fangled metal, made me forget about a popular mini run i ALWAYS attend! ;)

I'd trade the bogger in for making me forget to play with my mini chums, but its just been too damn nice! Only put fuel in it once, looks like the tank will last until well after pay day (thank god!) My overdraft is straining to bursting point! ;)

Of course bits have falled off....... Oh you mean the Stilo, not my mini! :p

Nope so far all the bits that were attached when i picked it up are still attached! Can't vouch for what may have fallen off while the car was sitting in the dealership though! [^]

I read the title of this post and thought to myself, but SURELY he can't of changed his mind this quick:D

So chuffed with it so far then? How you finding the 1.2 engine? Thing is, it may sound small, but it 80BHP, a few years ago you'd have needed a 1600 to produce that. Engine and becoming more and more powerfull for their size, but, rather than using smaller and smaller engines, the trend seems to be for faster and faster cars, suit me;)

So how did your Stilo make you forget bout your mini meet? All the gadgets frying your brain:D:D:D

Nah Fiat 500 is too wee, a mini is just the right size for fun! Stilo has so far proven to be absolutely superb! Gadgets galore, economic and is ver nippy for its size/capacity!

Gadgets galore? best not show you the dynamic then, its a bit jaw dropping :)
took me a while to pick mines up when I saw everything it had and could do :D

TBH, if I traded my Dynamic for an Active right now, know the only thing I'd miss?

My armrest!

Really there isn't that much functional extra kit on the Dynamic, granted there is the aircon, but mostly its the stuff like the alloys, spoiler etc...

Not that I don't like my alloys spoiler etc! Thats the thing with the Stilo, even the base model is well equiped, its not that long ago electric and PAS would have been the preserve of the range topper.

I'm driving a Corsa courtesy car at the mo and I really miss that armrest:(

Don't miss the arm rest as i've never had one! I need to keep one hand on the wheel and with my right arm resting on the door arm rest the other one would be wasted on me!

I don't miss Air con, i might in the two days of summer that we get, although i can take the mini and drive along with the windows open and the sunroof popped open.

Only thing i could possibly miss is(CD player excepted as one is in the post) cruise control, which doesn't come on the Active, but hey then i get a 6 speed box!

Im pretty lazy so the auto lights and auto windscreen wipers are switched to on :D
This one being the 5 door I was amazed that the rear seats could be moved forward a bit to add extra space or be used to give an angle ajustment on the seat for people in the back. the ASR is handy at the moment too, since where I live there is untreated roads and wheel spin in 3rd is still posible without it enabled.
As its an O2 model it doesnt have alloys.

Ah, well as mines a 3door, so no auto lights and wipers, and the dynamics (except 1.8) no longer come with ASR:(

No cruise either Stiloboy:( Did your 'scort have it? I wouldn't have thought it would?

A cd changer would be nice 2!

Next one I get is gonna be stuffed full of optional extra's!

That was the only downside of taking a stock model

3-door is better, thats why it gets less extra's. :p

ASR is for folk with poor clutch/accelerator control. ;)

Auto lights would be handy, auto wipers no thanks - wait for it, very soon we'll get the, "my auto wipers were turned on, but my wipers were frozen to the screen, i popped the fuse, burnt out the wiper motor and the earth computers - these cars suck comments!" Only 'cos your too dippit to peel the wipers off the screen on a cold day before you got in the car.

If i wanted more extra's than the metallic paint i paid for on the display model i'd have had to pay at least £4000 extra, makes the "extras" seem awfully expensive to me! Certainly not exactly bargain extra's thats for sure!

damn you are not right ... its very usefull piece of electronics, in winter not to slide, in summer not to burn the tyres.i like it a lot, although sometimes i turn it off and to a little autograph on the road.

That might be true on the 1.2;), but on the Abarth it is essential:D- on a wet road I've had the car spin the wheels when pulling off reasonably gently in 2nd gear.

As for the auto wipers, they don't activate automatically after starting the car - you have to manually wipe the window at least once before the autowipe will work - this is deliberately for cases where the wipers are frozen to the screen

Pah you don't need traction control on the front drive car unless its kicking out daft bhp, like 250bhp and thats just 'cos the drive can't cope!

I could wheel spin my Tdi Escort in 3rd gear, but using the clutch correctly i could get off the line with minimal wheel spin and maximum traction!

Its a skill thing! [:X] A good driver can live without traction control, traction control can make a poor driver appear a better driver! :I

Of course if i had traction control on my 1.2 i'd drive the car like i stole it trying to get the traction control to kick in all the time, but then maybe that explains why i'm getting such good mpg at the moment! [^]

Yeah you and your auto! [^] For ole' foggies! ;)

Just happy i've got the 6-speed box!

Of course if i won the lottery i'd probably trade for an Abarth, but the chances are slim to none.

Despite what most people think, the Selespeed takes a fair bit of getting used to before you can drive it properly - even in manual mode it does some things automatically, and you've got to know when its gonna do them. For example, coming up to a junction you start to slow up and want 2nd gear - if you time it wrong you can ask for a downchange from 3rd just as it decides it wants to do it automatically - result 1st gear !!

Have to say I'm not mad on the Selespeed, given a choice I'd probably have a manual Abarth.

Now that would be a pain in the plums. Best thing with the system is you'll not blow the engine, as these types of system change up rather than let you rev the nuts off the engine.

There is me talking of the virtues of auto's while driving half way home in 5th gear and then realising i had another gear! [)] :I

OF course everyone can live without TC but we are talking about it being very very usefull tool.pjp i got a question for you. With that gearbox of yours, can the car shut down, do you know like when you release the pedal quick and the car normally shuts down.is it possible with you g-box?

the ASR is also a tyre saviour.
