Punto (Mk1) My Mk1 55s Punto project, finally finished.

Introduction

How I got it:
Blown head gasket
Rusted through coolant passages in head
Handbrake not working
Rusted heater matrix
Warped discs
Cam cover leaking (a common problem in punto's? lol)
Shocks busted, except 1, lol
all locks broken (attempted break in, just broke the locks..)
passenger door damaged (chav attempted break in w/ crowbar) I'm hidin the green door as much as i can in the pics lol.
Don't remember what else was up.. not bad for £50

just gave the head a decent refurb and clean up, same with the rest of the mechanical parts of the engine


To this day:
Cross drilled and slotted discs, standard pads lol.
-60mm springs all round, apparently...
Spax shocks all round
40mm tricker TB
Remapped Sei chip
Stiffened engine mounts
20mm spacers all round
SX dash
Oil catch can
Induction kit
1.7 TD front bumper + ebay splitter
Ebay side skirts
JBL home made box (2x 10") with JBL gto 72.1 (i think?) amp
JVC head unit
Sporting center console
50% tint rear 60% light green tint on front..
GT3 cat-back Exhaust w/ 1.2 Punto manifold and downpipe
"NEVERBEEN!" sticker on suntrip along with "MOMANATORZ" (xbox gamertag)
and fiatforum stickers :slayer:
YAY FIATFORUM!

Stretch? no way hozay. they're narrow. same dimensions as the old wheels but is "inside" a bit more cos the hub has moved forward on them... spent about 2 hours cleanin em up. look amazin! can't be bothered for a refurb. maybe when the car is gone lol. still look great.
Inside the wheels were terrible... rusted SO bad where the hub goes...... managed to clean it up with wire wool drill bit.
pics in a few mins. Man I need to lower the front :cry:
still waitin for "spring lox" to come in the post

i thought they were gonna frickin take the car :bang:
he seemed alright in the end cos i joked "it looks good though init?" "no it don't that's why we pulled you over" :rolleyes:

lol i'd have asked the police man for a copy of his mot testers certificate cos as long as the car can get onto the mot testers ramp it not a fail but cut springs are lol

he was saying about the frickin clearance between wheelarch... first thing he said was "it's touchin the wheelarch ain't it?" jeeeez! the tyre would of frickin worn down and exploded by now! ok it did rub first but i bent the arches out :cool:
so i said "there's about 3mm clearance man.. it don't rub"

looks like youve piled loadsa fat mates into the back, the way its sitting! ;)

like the rusty door idea, might do it to the bonnet of my sei.

also am thinking of covering the quarter panel with stickers, so that you cant see the original paint underneath...

where did you get your lucky dip of stickers from?
i had a look on ebay, found f' all. :(

doin a rusty bonnet would be typical, try somethin else? rust that whole wing that has different paint :D
I hated the racing green door.. better orange/silver lol
i ain't gonna give you the link for the pot luck thing i got cos then you'll have alot of the same stickers as me :p
there was some massive set of stickers by another seller on ebay that looked good but can't find it...
type car sticker/car decal and you get some cool things come up

i was gonna do a rat look cinq, and that was gonna be one of my ideas..

trying to keep it secret as i want my car to be original as well as rat.

what about a wooden ladder? you can do the rusty one if you want :) don't mind
