The modifying scene has changed. But also we all grow up and get into different mods, when I first started driving I was all about the big exhaust and sound system etc. Now It's all factory style parts and performance.

The modifying scene has changed slightly, but I still think it's more to do with growing up, theres still issues of max power bieng sold with two page spreads of fibreglass messes and there are still cruises full of old sheds going on. We just choose not to be a part of all that when we get older, and decide to go to club meets and test and tune days etc.

like i said from the begining i know not everyone likes my car and i would be amazed if everyone did. I like the sound of the 1.4gt engine just need to find a car with a complete front end so i can take the suspension etc etc.

I like the ideo of a pealesent orange think it wil stand out with a bit of carbon fibre work on it & alloys powder coated black.

But for what i want to do i have still got so far to go yet.

Also whats the biggest size alloys you can get on a mk1 before having to roll the arches out ?

If you really want this to be a show car, I wouldn't go with orange, it's very last year. White with carbon fibre details seem to be the winning formula this year (we have BMW's M3 to thank for that).

Plus I have seen *tonnes* of orange cars over the past few months, its like everyone is trying to copy the focus st, and I think everyone will get bored of that soon.

17" alloys will fit, as long as you arent lowered by more than 50mm, iirc.
and 17"s are verging on the large size for a punto, anything bigger (even if it was possible) would look stupid, even on a car with a huge bodykit.

You from the sheffield area?

Im sure ive seen this at some of the cruises. Looks mental, respect to you for giving it a go(y)

are all about 45 dont know what a women looks like so they spend all there time on there computer masturbating.
And what's wrong with that? It's perfectly normal you kn....Doh! How do I edit this? Never mind, perhaps no-one will notice, I'll carry on..... You lot don't know you're born. Eeeee, when I were a lad we had to look at Capris with jacked up rears, huge wheels and tyres to make them look like dragsters and Hillman Avengers painted to look like Starsky's Ford Gran Torino. All with 1.3 ohv engines putting out a mighty 60-ish horse power.
"Engines? You were lucky, We 'ad a septic tank with pram wheels on and a Whippet pulling it."
"Stereos? We made our own entertainment in those days. We used to sing and my mate used to sit in the back and beat out time on an old air filter with a 5/16th Whitworth spanner."
"But then we had it tough. Try telling that to the youngsters of today, and they don't believe you."

Damn, I remember that scene as well (from reading old Custom Car magazines I hasten to add) I also remember the craze of bootlid "lip" spoilers, huge "Whale Tail" spoilers and incredibly bad "body kits" that were more blocky than LEGO. Not to mention the craze for colour coding everything, especially white cars in the late 80's...

Five door cars can look very cool, but not with Lambo doors. Cool five doors only need to have suicide rear doors
