there is but they all old and not worth the effort reconing one when for the same money you can get the much more modern 1.4 16v

I thought that engine was only 100hp? Isn't it N/A too? So you'd spend just as much as someone who did a proper GT conversion, and end up with even less power, and less scope for future power :chin:

:yeahthat:

the politics of the modified car scene is unbelievable

exactly! sorry i have to ask i completely respect what you've done, its your car as ive already said, but why are your bumpers on but not sprayed? cause it would look a lot better in my opinion....

i was just backing up what you said, how am i supposed to use the pm system if my account dont exist no more?

There is a PM system here, is there not? Dont try and start a PSC-FF argument.

goffouk, opinions are opinions, fair enough.

Like my opinion, that I dont like your car, its too chavvy for me. No need to beat around the bush.

there are certain codes that *should* be followed when modifying cars ;)

same as in fashion, for example burberry stopped producing the checked caps, because EVERY charver and his dog had one, maybe two :bang:

this is the same.... a few years ago, agressively styled cars were all the rage, and the charvers jumped on the bandwagon with their stupid looking hatchbacks (IMO). these days, people are starting to have more taste, hence the smooth "euro" sort of look.
another few years, no-one can predict what car modding will look like....

but, as this car is YOUR car, you may "dress" it how you like ;):p

if you are looking for power....

there are a few mk1 puntos with the 2.0 16v out of the coupe, but this is a fair bit of work, and as people have said, it wont handle as good.
if you get chance of a PROPERLY rebuilt 1.4T GT engine, at a reasonable price, i would say its the simplest thing to do.
otherwise, the 1.4 16v starjet will get 130hp with relatively small mods, and it will be a proper little weapon.
the BEST engine IMO for a conversion is the 1.4 16v turbo T-jet, but they may cost a bit (if you can even find one, that is) and it wont be quite as simple as a GT engine....

modify your car the way you want, as long as you know that every ones taste differs (y)

I agree totally. BUT, if you make a car look too over the top then you have to be prepared for people to laugh at best or criticise what you've done at worst. If you dressed like a tit and walked around in public you'd expect to laughed at. If you modded your car to look a tit then the same rule applies.

Some of it is down to opinion, some down to taste. We are all different and all have different preferences as to the 'ideal' look for a car. Where some modded cars fall down is when the mods are too extravegant to the point where they look ridiculous and silly. This is most apparent with Chavved up cars with badly fitted kits/ equipment, they just look all wrong and are an eyesore.

Alaina's Cinq is a good example of a highly modified car that has had major styling changes but is aethetically very well executed. Everything has been well thought out to work harmoniously together to the point where it could appear to have been produced as a factory car. Many of the modded Chav cars in comparison look like lashed up wrecks with different bits tacked on without any thought to continuity of style.

So if you modify your car to extreme levels you HAVE to accept that it will be commented on by others. After all, isn't that the whole point of making it stand out so much in the first place?

had lambo doors on my starlet loved them to begin with then they just got anoying, look the nuts though, car looks nice, bumpers could be sprayed and first thing i would do is fill in and smooth out the back door handles, not a fan of 5 door cars. other then that love it ;)

i dont mind it! like the lambo doors! not sure on the front bumper tho, might look better wen its painted, but i wouldnt go orange! keep it black:p, btw im a young driver n it doesnt mean we all speed n mess up our cars lol
