Thinking of making a subframe for it oh yeh no need for engine cranes in this garage haha but cutting legs and welding plates in and that may as well make a subframe and yeh will bolt box on on weekend but so far things are looking good for space but those legs may need to be swapped for stronger boxsection but I think I have come up with a method to keep the standard bay style went to get grinding disks today will do all the figuring out tomorrow

Where you building the frame from? And what are you attatching it to?

will doo and thick ish box or crds tube and the original leg with additional bracing also putting a cage in so i will tie the two together the good part with these there's only one suspension component that attaches to the legs so not to hard with suspension it will all be stronger than stock also will get my mate to seam weld going to rent a welder for the week when its all prepped

right so hear is the first cut ive managed to keep the structure for the struts and happy with the looks of things so far the leg goes all the way through the firewall into the shell so i can add structure on the inside as well as the outside so im fully committed to this h22 project now

Remember -- everything in front of the strut mounts and engine mounts is pretty much just crumple zone/stuff to hold "minor" bits of bodywork on. Easier if you remove the wings, but there's usually a lot of sikkaflex alike bonding the wings to the A frame on Cinqs, hot air gun and broad pry bar really helps.

yeh one side of the wings are off just left them connected to the shell so i can swing them out to do cuts i used a Stanley knife i will mirror onto the other side tomorrow if i get time

Lol boost comes in for me when VTEC kicks in yo ! Haha best part about vtecs are they are afectivly a 8v and 16v so you get the lowdown grunt of a 8v and power from 16v at high end should be a fun thing to go around in if I can afford insurance

lol, i was only messing.. Having driven a b16 del sol, i know this thing is just gonna be insane... Its gonna be fun watching you try to get some sort of power onto the tarmac

I think banded steels with some wider tred on the ground might help with that plus the cage and reinforcements might help weigh it down a bit more plus going to have a box oil cooler and engine oil cooler next thing on the list is brakes me thinks if I see some pop up

What BHP are these anyhow? I know nothing about hondas.... lol

Also you got any designs for the front frame? Reason i ask is i want to frame my conversion, but it was impossible to get back to the bottom leg on the gearbox side... Literally no idea how to loop the front... Getting from the strut tops to the front is easy enough, just the return path....

You might have the same problem (on the opposite side lol).

more or less done the other side aswell now and 220 bhp from honda and a hole lot of grunt (that's the part that counts )

i will give some measurements when i design it tonight but the main feature well be being able to unbolt the front crosmember for ultimate access plus all anciliries are on the front even starter motor

no rest for the wicked :devil: looks like i may need to widen the lower wishbone a tad but that will give it some nice stance

now it goes without saying this is one tight fit and the position is just rough but my god i think it may just fit

Loads of room!!!! My xe was only 20mm thinner and I managed it with most of the engine bay in place!! You will see what I mean about next to no room for framework. Just don't give up, looking good so far!
