I've completed my PROXI alignment attempt and have got the result below.

Does this indicate a Blue&Me failure? I should point out I've got the flashing odometer issue.

I did a bunch of scans and other stuff so have more info if required?

I've no experience of MES diagnosis of B&M failure. Real world symptoms in my experience are: flashing odometer, parasitic battery drain (flat in 4-5 days if car not used), oh, and bluetooth not working(!)

However, that error (in red) suggests to me it's dead!

Quite possibly it seems to be there but failed. Or is it disconnected. If not see if you can disconnect the plug and proxi again. If it no longer appears then you know it was bad but not necessarily why its bad. At every stage keep a coppy of the config file. You would need this in case you need to get back to the cars previous config, If its not there when you have disconnected, or says not presnet, econnect it up and try again. It sounds very like a B&M unit failure. Flashing is the signal of a system configutation failure. Ive not seen this message before but did a B&M disconnection ona 500. Once unplugged the B&M did not appear or may have said not present on the listof modules, hence I reckon its pretty certain thats your issue. It could be a poor connection which unplugging and re pluuging in may resolve. I would give it at least 15 minutes to ensure the unit has to power up completely before retrying that 2nd proxi align. Removal and a proxi fixed teh 500 flashing mileometer.

If the Blue & Me unit is removed MES would report it as missing. Your report of EOL failed is conclusive that the unit is toast and needs removing and chucking in the bin or removing and sending away to be fixed.

If you bin it you will need to run proxi alignment to remove the node from the BCM and the flashy thingies will go away. If it is properly repaired it should be a case of just plugging it back in (but might need proxi).

Thanks all. I've ordered a carplay unit to replace the radio, so I guess it just makes sense to disconnect the B&M module.

However, I read somewhere that the B&M module governs more than just the entertainment system, e.g. electric windows. Is there any truth to this or am I safe to just bin it?

Just when I thought it was going to be easy.......

So I've disconnected the battery and removed the B&M module (bit fiddly, but managed to do it without removing the seat).
Reconnected the battery and did another PROXI alignment.
The CTM is showing as removed but I still get a flasing milometer.

What's interesting is that I also tried to set the clock time and date via the MultiEcuScan interface and it wouldn't actually update.

I've had about 10 goes at running the PROXI alignment, but I still get the flashing mileometer issue, so I'm starting to think there must be something else preventing it from completing.

I ran a scan for errors and it has picked up a couple, one of which looks like it might be the cause.

Errors found:
B10AA-4A - PROXI configuration control - Incorrect component installed
U1733-87 - Convergence Telematic Node (NCV) - Missing message

However, I've no idea what either of these fault codes mean, even after a bit of googling. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've tried clearing the error codes and running the proxi alignment again but the mileometer is still flashing, so there must be something else going on that's preventing it from completing successfully. It's booked into the local garage on Monday so maybe they can work it out.

When my B&M module failed I asked a FIAT specialist if the unit could be deleted via software (I installed the previous FIAT entertainment system which gives you a USB). They advised not since it is part of the original BCM programming. I believe that others have had success on here but my guys were adamant. In the end I got a second hand B&M unit from an Alfa (same part number) it was plug and play. I still don't use it but the ODO stopped flashing :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for the info. I've found someone who will repair the B&M for £49 so I'll see if that sorts it. At least it will give me a working USB port so I can charge my phone.

That sounds like a good price; can you share? I still have my failed unit and may get it sorted. It will be interesting to see whether it is plug and play or whether it needs alignment (loses IP address at repair), do keep us informed.

It's this one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145668757834
I'll post an update once it's been done.

I paid double that last year, company in Bradford I think, took about a day in total ie I sent it in the morning it was return to me the repaired the following day, worked fine straight away.

Before it was replaced it knackered an almost brand new battery fortunately the battery was replaced under warranty as it was only months old.

Just checked the company was Revtronic in Bradford. They charged £95 including postage one way.

Thats interesting. The flashing indicates there is a problem with the cars module network. I would expect removing it and reconfiguring (proxi) would resolve this. The fact it didn on your suggest that there was indeed something else at play. I wonder what exactly its linked to and why.

No wonder these ECU controlled cars are ALL such a massive pain the the rear end. I assume something else however insignificant was being fed a signal through the B&M .

The fact that some cars seem not to be this way suggest they moved it on in development at some point?

Don’t bin it. They still worth something if repairable.
The more expensive repairers seem to have better kit and don’t wipe the eprom, which makes it easier to refit as they retain original identity.
