Tuning much cheaper SS and MS manifolds (16v)

Right well i would have sorted this sooner but been quite busy lately.
Just got off the phone with JA, he says really wasnt impressed and for me to send it back and new one will be sent out to me.

As it was the first one, he'll admit there maybe be some problems but as he has gotten some feedback and shows his work isnt 100%, he'll sort it and keep on improving.
He suggested that no one else buy one as if this one isnt right, a new order might not be as well so wait until mine is sorted. So he can proove that he can make a top notch fiat mani (y)

Cheers

Right manifold came back from JA, took a while to arrive but i did tell him i wasnt in any rush.
My newest MM post has some pictures in it.
Quality is a lot better than the first one but as my pictures show, looks like it needs shortening from the flange as it might not even fit in a cento bay. Im sure the dimensions are fine for a punto 16v but in a small cento...
I did tell John that it was for a seicento too

Little word of advice for those than order from JA in the future; always ask to speak to John himself and its often a good idea to give him a ring every few days to ask him how its going.

It's a univseral fit flange, so yes it will fit earlier and later 16v engines.

Downside is if JA keeps making them big they won't fit in our small bays (n).

It comes further forward than the supersprint by over an inch :bang:. Plus side the quality of this one is great, and only a little grinding is needed up inside the flange to make it cleaner and give smoother gas transition. Downside is it may not fit :bang:.

Thanks

Also for lamba sensor holes, theyll put them where ever you want them to go.

didnt arc have a good pic of the clearance of the supersprint manifold to the bulk head? may be worth a search. if i can remember...its not alot(n) id put money the new'n not fitting

It will hit the member, mine is about an inch (maybe a touch more) away from both rad and member.

This manifold is considerably more "frontal" (wahey :D) than the supersprint.

It's a shame really as it is a tidy peice for an in house made manifold.

Thanks

Right just got off the phone with JA. Ive sent him the comparision photos.
Says he's flat out at the moment but im going to drop off the manifold in person on saturday morning and he says he'll have another one made up asap and ready for me to look at on the jig, on saturday morning. Give me a run through of how much they can bend it, dimensions etc. :)

Told him a few other members of the fiat community are looking at buying his mani, as long as he can get this first one right. Though i know being the first one there's bound to be a few teething problems.

So going to roll down on saturday morning and hopefully itll be sorted, will keep you guys updated.

I'd have had enough personally...I'd have returned it and saved for a SS.

Still, my first SS had a weld issue at the 2-1 joint from mani to second two pipes....i had a hole. I had to send it back and get a replacement. They are obv not infallible but the quility does seem much better.

How to SS produce and manufature? Automated bends and welds?

See in normal cases i would do that, but i think JA is almost half the price of SS ...
