I dont know how all these people who are having a problem getting up hills would have managed with the rear wheel drive cause there wasnt many rear wheel drives much use at snowy hills.

when my ASR was on it got through the snow/ice last year just fine while others were getting stuck.

My current RWD car got stuck today though :( my mate came in his van to tow me out but he got stuck as well lol so I rolled further down the road and found some grip.

In a FWD car i normally keep turning the wheel left to right to find some grip but this doesn't work for RWD :(

That is fine if you have space, but in a narrow street with cars on both sides, if you suddenly find a bit of grip while the wheel is turned, the car will suddenly leap at the nearest parked car. Also if the street is sloped to one side, like mine is, there is a very big tendancy to slide to that side of the road and into the cars. The only method I could use was to take a run up try to keep the speed up to get to the top.

Another point, a MW is 200kg heavier than a 3 door. That counts for a lot when you are dragging the weight up an icy slope.

What car you got now Dan?

mine was grate in snow and ice too, bearing in mind, your supposed to use 2nd gear to get going, then let the engine do the pulling rather tha using the throttle, 1st would be good up a steep hill with no throttle. never had any problems with mine(y)

you guys just dont know how to drive in icy conditions:p:D
