Hi to everyone in Six Seater land

That time has come round again and some of you may recall how I got well and truly stuffed last time on my MOT, for those who don't, here's a recap, used the garage that the company I work for uses, I had a broken front spring and finances were low, so I was allowed to use the garage and repay the costs through my wages each week, not a bad deal some would say, £1300 later and she's back on the road

How much? you're asking, did they rebuild from the ground up? nope just got assf....., well, you know....

Anyway, this time funding is a little better so the old girl went to my usual frendly neighbourhood garage I've used for years, so what was the damage?

Failed on exhaust, which I knew about, that started to go a month after the las MOT, guess they missed that then you're probably thinking, I did too when they replaced the flexy in front, exhaust actually snapped just before the first box of the middle section, a very nice AA man came and bodged it together, got home and further bodged it with a reweld, can't complain, it held out until now:)

A snapped drop link arm, oops, lots of potholes near me, excessive play on the other, play on track rod end, lower wishbone suspension arm and a leaking rear shocker, oh and the headlights were aimed well low, wondered if these have a habit of drooping over time from passing last your to not being touched until failing this year???

Still, not too bad I feel, a grand total including parts and would you believe a £10 retest fee, apparently the misfire she has buggered up the emmissions tester and and the pipes had to be blown out because of the condensation, the misfire was causing her to fail and I had both rear shockers replace, I regularly carry 5 passengers so was a good option, was £415 smackeroos, some may say that's excessive, I'm as happy as Larry, she's back on the road for another year and this time I know everything is OK

The service I get from the guys at Chequered Flag is outstanding, MOT chappy wasn't happy with the handbrake cable and an iffy brake cable, only put on advisory, not a failure, but they were given a good clean a checking over and a liberal coating of grease What makes the difference this time is, they guys have given her a good looking over and when they say she's in good shape now, needs the tracking doing and a service in the not too distant future, I know she's in good shape

So I pick her up Monday and I've promised she'll get lots of TLC, something, I'm ashamed :( to say, she has missed out on

She'll get a right good scrub, I've a handsfree kit to put in and perhaps I may replace the radio, I've seen one on Pixmia, someone recommended it on here, it's an Irandom CS-103, auxiliary input for Ipod and SDcard and USB ports £32 so may go down that route. I also need to find a pollen filter cover as some scally nicked mine and the rubber cowl that goes over the nearside headlight, the wiring corrodes on that side becuase it's missing

Then our next job is to hopefully sort out the misfire, begining with a service at the end of the month, new plugs and leads and see how she goes

Thanks for listening folks

Happy Motoring
