More computer problems

Yeah im exactly the same, i hide behind the computer.

I just ahte the way on the net things can be seen in a totally different way to what you meant them to be. And its harder to tell if you've upset someone with what you've said or whatever.

Okay way too deep for FF what happened to us talking about what we had for tea and what we we're listening too :p

lol, oh well, no one can read this. They can? :O lol

I like the computer mask, I don't consider myself a great and confident person yet in the flesh but I get chance to re-think everything I type on here and make it sound ok before sending it. I have to say my confidence has tripled recently with having to get a job etc. which makes me happy, I used to be really scared of calling people i didn't know, now a lot less so.

I love the internet for this reason, it lets me freely talk to people I would never talk to in real world....however, back on the topic of computer problems (smoothly does it ;) ) a problem with them is as you say, working out tone/sarcasm etc.

Life's never relaxing, true, but take any chance you get to escape from it! The other week (shortly after my moment of insanely drunken madness, theres a thread about that somewhere :p), a day's (paid!) holiday away from B&Q, spent in one of my favourite places on earth (the Peak District, specifically the bit between Sheffield and Ladybower reservoir) on my mountain bike, made me feel a whole lot better about just about everything. Spectacular scenery and some wicked little rocky downhill sections, ideal for taking my mind off bad stuff. There's a lot to be said for getting away from everyone and everything and chilling out.

Speaking of PC games: can anyone do me a copy of Manhunt? That game looks wicked :D and it being banned from various shops serves only to increase its appeal to me!

Bugger. It takes me so long to write stuff, by the time I post it there's loads of new posts in between and it looks out of place and confused! :p

That game might cause you to be more of a danger! lol

I know the place well, I have also spend quite a few days cycling around the edale/bamford/castleton/hope area which I think you're refering to and had a lot of great times - also done a lot of walking around there. I might take your advice and see if my bike rack will fit the car!

I think I am due a days wages (it's 1.67 per month I believe so I should get nearly £60 approx which is cool) for holiday pay :D

Arghh i hate phoning people even if i know them. Im scared of fones  I like the way you can think through an answer before you give it which you cant do in person or on the fone, but i guess that kinda means the person you are online isnt the person you are really? I dont know hmm...

Oh god. Binki has an msn

OKay i kinda took ages writing that sorry

Oooh, I can recommend the Edale- Castlefield run on a mountain bike. Brilliant fun is good weather... just watch out for the huge gate at the bottom of a hill on the way to Castlefield! When I did that ride last year, everyone came off trying to avoid that gate, from 30mph to nothing by means of either a wooden gate or a ditch! At the fun of it! :D

Binks an MSN? wow, should teach my cat what it's all about it seems lol.

Lora, me too, i like the few seconds you get before you open your mouth and seem a fool (not saying you do, i mean me, you know what I mean lol). I needed to phone my agency today to say I wanted thurs afternoon off aswell to "sort out uni" - yeah right ;) and expected a voicemail at 8pm, nope, got a Kelly services call centre :O Didn't plan at all for that and it knocked me off balance but I am learning and getting better for practice.

Tom: I think if that's the same route I am thinking about it's bloody amazing, you spend most of it on the side of a hill on limestone gravel - you also go through a ford at the bottom of a REALLY steep hill, can't remember the name and my map of that area is in the loft. Anyway, was going that route with 3 friends, doing nearly 30mph down a good slope, about 3pm after starting off at 9am. I was leading the group (as always happened, was one of the stronger of the 4 but also was the better map reader ;) ) but felt I was dropping down the camber of the path too much (i.e. we were on a path which was sloped like the hill just not so badly) I didn't panic at first but tried to head back to the higher and flatter part at which point the gravel which must have been very deep at that point gave way and i hit the deck, i held on for dear life and skidded (pedal against floor) for about 15 metres on this gravel before coming to a stop, closely followed by 2 of my friends who had been breaking since i came off on that sliding gravel who came over the top of me. None of us were injured and it was a great bit of fun - they said afterwards I looked wicked coming off and then just sliding down as if nothing was up lol. Only problem was my friends chain went when we got back going so spent the next 20 mins redoing his chain (for some reason I had taken a chaing removal/refitting tool at the last minute, lucky!)

Alas, this was a good few years back and now I don't have those friends anymore :(

Whatever do you mean, "more of a danger"??? ;)

Lora, you're not the only one who hates phoning. I loathe phoning companies up for anything; and rather than phone friends up I text them to arrange to go down the pub for a chat over a few pints!

Oh, and for anyone off biking in the Peaks, the Snake Pass Inn does a belting steak which is even tastier after 8 hours of pedalling! :D Although riding back into Sheffield after a few refreshing cold beers is not recommended; stability and balance do seem to suffer a little as my mate and I found out! ;)

I phoned for a cancellation for my driving test because it was an automated thing so i went along all the options and for some reason it suddenly said 'please what while we trasfer you to one of our agents' i was like 'noooooooooooooooooooo' and put the phone down, pathetic i know but people scare me :p

i txt everyone and i've never spoke to Alex on the fone which i guess is kinda weird :D

I used to be like that, only liked phoning the argos phone line because it was automated, everything else was a no no lol, lora (and Jonny of course too :D ) you will both get over it soon :)

It's better if you have something to complain about IMO, it puts them in the scary position of saying everything correct and you can be angry hehe

Oh yeah i dont ahve a problem phoning ntl because whenever i phone them there always seems to be a nice person on the end of the line that i can scream to :) Kind of helpful after you've waited an hour to speak to any gimp that will help you :)

SHould try phoning orange - it costs the same as a mobile phone call! - And they make you wait on hold :( Can't wait for this months phone bill - honest.

See, you should just practice on the NTL bunch lol

yeah i used to have a contract with orange until daddy cut it off :)

When we tried to get another phone once cus i'd broke mine they made us wait 2 and a half hours listening to that stupid music :(

But being on contract you would have got the nice 150 (i think) free number, being a cheap PAYG customer they give me the ****ty 07973 number :( or 451 (like 20p per min!)

I like orange really ;) I have to say I love all the data stuff you can get with new mobiles, I can do so much fancy stuff I didn't think possible...

I hope Daddy wasn't too mad lol

Yes we had a nice 150 number that was free :)

But i've also had to call 450.. dont know how much that was though :p

I prefer o2 as i only use txts tbh.

Daddy was very mad when he got my bills and finally bothered opening them... hence him cutting the thing off :D

Yeah, I can attest for that too...sneaking a few shots of vodka into ones drinks containers certainly doesnt help..

Beer is always good mid -long ride!

I hate the phone too but sometimes I have to force myself to do it. Those few seconds as you dial the number and it rings are the worst of all. But at the end of the day it's just another human being on the other end who probably hates speaking on the phone too. I really don't understand this irrational fear we all have of it! So yes, I use loads of texts too ;). As for mobile phone bills, well I already know mine is going to be bad so just don't bother opening it :D.

Lol - as a general rule if the bill feels thick dont open it.. only open the ones that feel like theres 2 pieces of paper in it :D
