hi folks,
bought my first ever FIAT today.(after ford, citreon, vauxhall etc etc and so on)
5 door 2004 multiwagon 1.9 diesel JTD.
hoping you can help.

very simply the manual says than if i press the MODE button on the right hand side of the dash for more than 2 seconds i get the extended menu options (clock setting etc). unfortunately nothing happens at all.
I get the basic menu if i press normally which includes the speed limiting settings but i cant get to the straight forward settings like setting the clock etc by pressing for 2 secs or more as the manual advises?

it says the other settings may be in the connect/navigator but i assume thats the sat nav stuff and im pretty sure one of thoise wasnt supplied.

any help would be great thanks.

yes have ignition in MAR position.

there is what i'd describe as an auxilliary cigarette 12v supply just under the left hand side of the sterring wheel.

is that standard or could that be where the connect/nav stuff might have resided with the previous owner?

still no joy.

i did notice that when i replaced the rubish kenwood stereo in the dash there were 3 or 4 connectors behind looking like they would connect to a conect/nav system.(and naught to do with stereo 'save' the steering column)

is it possible that the car didnt come with a connect /nav system and the cables are just there at construction?

the worrying concern i have is if this did orignally have a connect/nav system (which is no longer present) then how do i get to my menu system to at least change the clock time?:(

UPDATE: checked..it defiantely had a connect nav unit and after checking with local FIAT dealer there doesnt appear to be a way to bypass this ...F**k and B**LLOCKS!! ...not a good start for life as a FIAT owner

QUESTION: surely unless the previous owner bought a FIAT without a sat nav he/she is unlikely to be able to re-use the sat nav unit elsewhere?

Interesting....how would you introduce the software to the car?

Sounds like something that you'd need to do with the Engine Management System via a connecting cable and a laptop?
