Would Some Of You Be Able To Upload Photo's Of Your SLAMMED Punto's.
Cause I Want To Lower Mine, But I Dont Know What Springs I Want Just Yet.
To Be Honest, The Lower The Better.
Thanks.

Maybe its a figure of speech.

Mega lowering is fine if you have wads of cash, but just dropping it down on otherwise standard suspension arms not only looks rubbish it ruins the handling and spoils the grip.

I don't understand how you could possibly know that 50mm is the lowest he is wanting to go though?

He might be wanting 65/85 for a euro slam look? eh

im just saying that if u go lower then 50 then expect a bumpy ride ? i know someone who has 65mm drop and she says its so unconfertable and keeps hitting the wheel when she goes over bumps ... also she cant have 5 people in her car now because it is just inposible to drive haha

Hey Marty, no photos, but a quick rundown of lowering on a Punto...

30-40mm: PERFORMANCE with looks. Dials in a little negative camber for great grip at both ends, lowers the roll centre, but still provides plenty of suspension travel to deal with the UK's scarred roads. Still retains usuable ground clearance. The best lowering range for fast road use.

50mm: LOOKS with performance. Looks good, but dials in a touch too much camber, leading to a car with a slight tendency to understeer. Not bad in terms of performance on UK roads since there is still enough travel. This is also a good height to set coilover suspension for track use with camber correction bolts, since tracks are much smoother than UK roads.

60mm + LOOKS ONLY (and can look daft if not done properly). For the amount of travel available, you may as well weld the suspension strut shaft. Bumpy and jarry, will not hold the UK road surface, negative camber will cause massive understeer, clearance issues will lead to frequent underbody repairs. This is definitely an aesthetics over practicality choice. Also expect massive wear to suspension components. Also, do not use with stock dampers, they are far too long.

Im guessing this changes depending on the size of wheels fitted? Im probably going to be running 14's or 15's,im also wondering how low i should go!

Well yes, this is a factor. In fact, there is a bit of a scaling law for alloys too...

14" standard, PERFORMANCE with comfort
15" PERFORMANCE (fast road)
16" PERFORMANCE with looks (required size for big brake kits)
17" LOOKS ONLY due to the width required to find tyres in this size, arch rubbing becomes an issue, low profile tyres require a very stiff sidewall, which is not ideal for UK roads.

Of course, get the offset, width or rolling radius wrong, and you can cause all sorts of problems.

50mm drop on standard shocks dont think you can have any lower on standard just because the springs wont to securly compressed enuf and will slip.

50mm on 15" wont make your tyres rub either and pretty comfy ride depending wont springs you use, 50mm still over speed bumps at reasonable speed and park on paths and drive off them fine.

and get LOsuspension spring www.losuspension.com only like £75 very good spring comfy ride iv got them on my punto no problems at all.
