General Mito front wishbones

So looking at doing the front of fifi but front wishbones need replacing if ball joints go!? Crap idea. So ive been looking at the 1.4 MITO ones? Already have Godflex bushes to go on.

The Mito is the GM Fiat "199" platform shared with the Grande/Evo Punto Corsa etc.

The Panda is the Fiat Small Mini Platform. They are not the same parts they do not share the same platform even if they look similar.

Every bottom arms job I have done revealed split rubber at the rear bush. You can get replacement bushes but will need a significant press and good fitting sleeves to do the job. It is easier on the 169 cast arms but not worth doing in my opinion. New arms are £35 each side from Shop-4-Parts.

You can replace just the ball joint

It just that if you change both bushes and ball joint it's dearer than replacing the arm

To try and find an arm with exactly the same geometry seemed pointless

Light weight tubular adjustable arms for racing were available, but not in the UK,

I have a set of 2013 Panda bottom arms. The subframe "looks" no different to the 169. I can supply measurements if anyone wants to compare with 169 bottom arms.

That said, the later cars have a M10 pinch bolt for the ball joint 169 has a 8mm bolt that's barely adequate. I have no idea what other differences the later model hub carriers (knuckles) have over the 169.

Yes i do! My old Gordini 5 allowed just the ball joints being replaced!? Im about to get the front end stripped in the next couple of weeks thicnesses dimensions etc.. would be amazing. Knowing old skool fiat and alfa something tells me there just going to swap or i need the alfa mito subframe!?

I had the original ball joints replaced in my gordini and they popped out then if you redrill the 3 studs out you could bolt knew ones in. If im adding godflex bushes. With the state off the shitty UK roads i dont want to keep chainging them as well!

As I remember 100hp arms are strangely more expensive than the standard cars

I think if you already have decent bushes ready to go in, I'd take the existing arms down to a local indy and have the ball joints and bushes replaced

The later Panda and 500 have pressed steel arms with pressed in ball joints. I got a new pair with drop links for brother's 2013 Panda for just under £100. Ball joints were slightly worn but rear rubber bushes were toast. Just not worth the hassle of fitting new wearing parts.
