General Mid engined V6 cinq(updated 7/5/07)

Just giving this thread a bump in case he comes back. I've got loads of questions about what he's done about making sure it doesn't bend in half when he puts his foot down. I'd imagine a car that flexes a bit with 54bhp will be seriously wobbly with knocking on the door of 200. I can see he has some sort of cage going on but whats he used for the pick up points?

I haven't read the whole thread so someone might have said this already but.....

Pick up this months issue of Practical Performance Car magazine.

Turn the to Walkers Workshop pages

There's a car that looks eerily similar to this sporting a mid mounted Nissan V6.

Bright orange grasstracker?

Ah, I didn't recognise that as a Cinq! ;)

Not the same car, although any wide tracked Cinq will have similarities. Reasons (in no special order):

1. Front suspension is a totally different design. The Alfa car used traditional MacStruts at both ends, patterned heavily on Alfa geometry. The grass tracker uses inclined coil overs at the front, presumanly double wishbones, etc.

2. The roll cage seems to be of a very different design.

3. Why/how would a Geordie be getting sponsorship from a Rotherham based company?

Nah, I just saw mid engined V6 cinq and the photos and my brain registered having seen something similar somewhere before. Then I remembered. I didn't actually have the mag in front of me at the time :)

I think the price is silly but from a race car perspective, it seems reasonable. Ever seen some of the rolling chassis on touringcarspares.com ? I was tempted to buy a civic type r chassis for £4,000

Thanks

Edit: I'm so glad he ditched the original arches :D.

This is no doubt an interesting project, but with a price tag of £6000, i think he is having a laught.

I understand where your coming from there but how do you put a price on things like this.. Its open to offers so fair play if you ask me. A higher selling price will surely ensure the next buyer is serious and not some deluded youngster/dreamer..

persoanlly i dont think the price is insane cos i saw this while it as being made and the work that went into it (professionally) is outstanding, if i had 6k i would have this straight away as its been very well built and built properly
