Maybe you're one of these people that has a poor notion of when an engine runs well then :chin:
The Stilo 1.2 ECU is not the same as the Stilo 1.4 ECU
If you're going to make a suggesting then don't you think it's worth warning of possible issues and how you may have overcome them
we did a rr and fueling was ok dead flat line, we remaped it and fuel line was still spot on, the self learning mode of a 1.2 will mean it can run a 1.4 just fine even with out a re map

have you tried bump starting it just incase the starter motor is fried? long shot i know but could be worth a shot
Is that not the method used for hand cranking? Like has already been done?

As an aside, it should be just as easy to turn with belts (if plugs are removed but watch fingers
) or even better, jack up one wheel, put in 6th gear, and just turn the wheel.

a 1.2 stilo takes the air from over the top of the front grill and the airbox is on top of the engine so it would be hard to take on water.
im just curious about the lack of the starter motor turning because when my head gasket went on a Seat Ibiza and seized 2 pistons, the starter still turned over (all be it a quicker!)

Sounds lke what I'd try.
Get it rolled down a not so very steep hill... Ignition on. Clutch and 2nd gear in. Drop clutch at appx. 20 kmph (15mph). Did it start or not?

Come on guys, this is fair enough as an emergency start on a good known engine but somethings likely damaged here - so why try to make it worse
Do as I say in post # 49 - this will do no harm at all as you can feel the resistance with your hands.
Yes; as I've already said it's rather ironic as the 1.2 is well prepared to handle floods - but if you read the thread you'll notice the induction has been messed with

Extremely unlikely.
I don't think the engine turns at all in which case it might be worth removing the starter motor just in case the pinion is jammed solid - although a bit like clutching at straws

Well it went a couple of weeks ago, I got £600 as a non runner, and am waiting to hear what was actually wrong with it from the dude that bought it. He had a look over it before he took it and said he suspected big ends of con rods. Either way, I'm now driving a Volvo 850 Sadly not a T5, but I'm on the lookout for one!
