Got a Kia Sedona with a melted numberplate bulb holder and the plate that the bulb holder locks into

Getting a 2nd hand is super super slim - not only are they rare in scrap yards but there 1 in 5 variations availible and not 100% sure on cross fitment

Anyway
Im thinking of putting a plastic plate OVER the orignal piece if room allows it
and getting a push to lock fit bulb replacement and splice it back into the wiring :)

i need advice on what plastic would be suitable for the job
Its gotta witstand heat, as those little 501's DO get hot after a while, not thick either, like 1mm thick in total

Just throwing it out there - but instead of replacing old school, why not go for an LED arrangement of some description?
It needn't be waterproof if you intend to put a plastic 'lens' (silcone seal the plastic in place?) or maybe look to buy one of these small LED arrangements that can be used as DRLs where a group of LEDs are contained in their own little pod?

I had a similar problem with the luggage compartment lamp in my doblo. Melted/burned the lens - which was also the holder - craziest design ever?
Bought an LED array which covers the original hole & held in place with a touch of rubber solution. It's also far brighter so easier to see in the boot at night
