Is it fully reaching the nut

Needs to be long reach socket or have a through hole as it's on a long stud

I don't have any 5.5 long reach, I used a 7/32" I believe, but it's been a few years

It’s deffo reaching. We shall try again with a long reach. Thank you

I failed to get mine done. The flexi drive would connect but twisted up before the screw came loose. Socket and U/J was nearly impossible to connect. When I did get it on, there was no way to keep it in place while applying torque. I gave up. The car now has a full speed heater fan or no speed heater. If I knew the wiring route, I would find a way to fit the resistor under the engine compartment perhaps with a computer case cooling fan to keep it cool.

Proper tool turns a hard job to a reasonable job

Others have followed down the same path and succeeded

I have the same tools as imaged. My 1/4" flexi drive should be fine for it (used many times elsewhere) but the screw must have been fitted by a gorilla. I have a huge selection of extensions and U/Js but cannot reach to hold the business end in place while applying torque. As said I gave up.

I will try again when the wether improves but I'm not hopeful. Tracing the wires into the loom is likely to be a more fruitful idea.
