General Looking for 1.4L Auto test drive

too late - he already has!

:yeahthat:

Another - can I drive it on an auto lisence thread

Another it isn't an auto, oh yes it is, oh no it isn't. :bang:

Just to confirm the dualogic is an Automatic (or robotised maunal gearbox for the politically correct  :p).

The fact it doesn't creep like alot of different auto's out there doesn't mean it's not an auto. (y)

Hi,

Yes. I can ONLY drive autos. It's not that I have an auto-only license that is causing this - I can't drive manuals due to the lack of a left arm below the elbow. :) I haven't got the articulation required to handle a manual.

i think the dualogic is described as a 'robotised manual'..not a full auto
I keep reading this, and appreciate the differences. :) I just refer to it as an auto because it does things automatically. :)

Best regards,
Astro500.

Chap I met at a car show had an Austin A35 and he had fabricated an extension to the gear lever that finished in a padded "cup" so that he changed gear by slipping the stump of his left arm into the cup. This could be a possible solution to enable you to drive a manual...

I'd considered that, but wouldn't the lengthened gear stick require rather large actions to move it?

Seems easier to do to something like the 500 due to the location of the shifter. :chin:

This chap's arm was amputated mid forearm probably nearer the wrist than the elbow so the extension wasn't really that long.

Having said that the gearbox on the 500 has quite a short throw and a very short lever so I suspect that the actions required would still be smaller than on a standard A35! (y)
