You can keep the Cinquecento engine in the front for when the Coupé engine breaks!
I'll fit it. It can't be that tricky!

Actually, it is quite tricky.

Obviously it is doable, but it won't be a walk in the park.

hey gaz another wrexham lad here black p reg cinq, you thought about inreasing performance by stripping your car of all the unnessecary, wheel arch liners, seats, parcel shelf etc, costs nought to increase power to weight this way!

I am all for removing weight from cars. And there is a lot of things that can be removed or be replaced. However only few things can be removed without sacrificing comfort or at one point safety. Some stuff car manufacturers put in the car actually have got some point. Doing consultancy work for manufacturers in the Automotive industries I can assure you an arch liner is something they really hate to fit as it is hardly seen by the clients cost money to produce and fit and in turn brings up the price of a car.

As the previous post mentioned you will get dirt in and do harm. Water and dirt are lethal for the metal work and the rust protection (galvanising) is not that good and this is the reason why it is fitted. Additionally the arch liner has got some structural function.

Sorry but this is some bad advice.(n)

where bouts you from??

wheel arches is a no no, they are there to serve a purpose, to keep muck out, from what i remember on my sei, the arch lining also protected gear box and cambelt  , probably be the same for the cinq

the car will lightened as much as possible without causing too much damage, im gonna be taking the rear seats out, but i imagine that acts as a brace across the rear, so will need some way of having the stiffness without the seat and without a roll cage

The rear seat doesn't make a difference. But you can make a cross brace much easier without seats.

You will be amazed how much you can take out of the little cars.

i have seen some sort of brace fitted in a sei, it was fitted from arch to arch, using the existing rear seat bolts

i will have to weigh up all the bits that i have taken out, when i have taken it out

save me starting another thread :p , i noticed LANCIA stamped on the engine yesterday, just above the exhaust manifold, i never noticed that on the sei....am i special :D
