I've searched on the forum, and elsewhere on the internet and think I've found the culprit. However it's always nice to properly explain my problem to make sure it is what I think.
Driving, at a steady speed in a straight line. Over slight bumps, uneven road etc. Knocking from the front of the car, footwell located and I'm sure driver side.
I've bounced the car when stationary, using my weight on alternative front corners. There is no knock when bouncing the passenger side, but there is on the driver side.
Recent MOT states that (and could be a red herring). This is for both Near and Offside.
'Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated'
This aligns with the research I've done, ie the drop links are knackered and making the knock. However what is everybody else's verdict?
Cheers
P.S - I've ordered a new drop link, as they're cheap enough. Will try and fit myself. Just a bit wary that this won't fix it, don't want to be spending too much as it's going up for sale.
P.S.S - Anybody want a 86k 1.2 Grande Active?
