so im puzzled, if i passed on my first time (which i wont but hypothetically) does this mean that im not as gooder (is that a word?!) drive as the people who passed second time round, coz it may just be me but that dont make sense!!!

Tashy, you have it wrong, obviously first time passers (like myself) are the superior drivers for this and second or more are obviously never ever going to get to that standard!

The fact is, if you fail your test the first time you simply weren't ready for the test, if you want to compare drivers they need the same driving instructors, the same amount of time before the test in a car and then the same driving test scenerios. This is obviously impossible. For example, I passed after driving on the road for 12 hours which is half the average IME, however, I had the oppotunity of driving off-road for a good few years so knew car control perfectly, just lacked road experience. So it would be unfair to compare that to somebody who didn't have that oppotunity. Although obviously I am the best for it jk

No, you're missing the point, I am a good driver and passed the first time hence the rule is, if you pass first time you must be better.

Although I don't mind second timer passers consoling themselves of their failure by claiming that "obviously it's better".

I had two reasons I had to pass first time:

1) If I failed my friends would have put me down for weeks
2)Cost - like you, I mean to take a test it's about £70 in total plus I would have needed a few hours lessons before the test.

I am not broke, just tight, realised my student loan went in a few days ago, 3.5k including overdraft, oOOOH YEAH! lol

I couldnt afford 2 tests - my dad agreed to pay for my first

He paid for my theory test, provisional license and full license but wouldnt pay for my lessons tho
