Then why did I pass first time? hey? Hey!?

Well done :)

Because, Paul, all the best drivers pass 2nd time! ;) I'm living proof!

Well done Mr C :D hope you've been out in the motor putting all you learned into practice ... errr, more like forgetting all that driving test garbage and having some fun!

pfft 2nd passers rule the road ! 1st time passers are to safe ! JB i honestly havent been going over 30 in 30 zones honest :D well i cant lie for beans .... i've been wheelspinnin but only cos there standard wheels and i'm getting alloys ... we can all have a lil fun cant we ?

In the good all days when u old folks passed ur tests it was a myth bout passin 2nd time, but nowadays they dont let any1 pass that they think will drive like a boy racer. So the best do pass 2nd time as proven by the stats of the modified cars being involved in less accidents. :D Point proved. :p

Erm Mr C, the 30 zones are there for a reason, if you want to be stupid a day after passing go and do it where you're less likely to hurt anybody else yeah? Good :)

As Evo said, the only reason why people quote that is because they weren't good enough the first time to pass.

I had 2 minors and 1 major my first time. The first time even the instructor agreed it wasnt my fault that some dick changed lanes on a round about and came straight in front of me, to which my reaction was to move out of the way without checking my mirror, even though i knew there was nothing there luckily. If i see him eva again im gonna hurt him sooooooooo bad and take all his money 2, as compensation for wasting my time and money.

And most people are safe doing more than the limit, just make sure u dont do it in stupid places, but saying that i drove like an idiot the day after. lol
I went out at midnight to test the top speed of my car (safe time & safe place). :D (y)

Exactly, if you failed first time is was because you were not ready plain & simple, you can't fail someone who is good enough, so lets here less of these conspiricy theories, because if you fail 1st time there was a need for more training, although I do believe some people will succumb to nerves as well, but again it could be argued that with more training more confidence is gained & therefore less nerves. ;)

A newly qualified driver isn't usually safe to go above any limits be it in a 30 zone, on a country lane or on the motorway, that's when accidents due to inexperience happens. The worst thing is that a 30 zone is a 30 zone for a reason, there can be a time and a place for going above and a 30 zone isn't that. Most people here agree with that.

I had a bad driving test but still passed so I was happy and driving my dad's td scenic that evening :D Ah those were the times!

It's not always a reflection on the driver/how quickly and easily they have picked it up, it's as you say Evo, confidence comes into it but also the quality of the teaching, how you feel on the day and the luck of the draw in terms of any bad moments you get and how your inexperience handles it.

I only did 12 hours and none with my parents (no insurance) so I thought my driving was fine, my inexperience would be the problem and it was, I stalled 3 times due to nerves and missed my blind spot once. I had a solid parallel park on a busy road (all my lessons had been in a quiet suberb on sunday mornings!) which I think was why I passed. I somehow did a perfect parallel park without thinking and it all slotted perfectly despite the pressure of 100 cars around me and a little gap, I couldn't repeat it! To me on the day it was equivilent of driving a mini at 40mph and going into a gap 1.2 car lengths long in a handbrake turn lol.
