How come? I thought the minimum was 3k outside of London? I know I get the minimum and pay the maximum tutition fees. I have had my first two installments, about 1k each, 1k overdraft and £550 of my own money. Hence 3.5k put only £550 is mine....
Tashy, if it's such a problem don't learn until you're earning properly aslong as you don't need it for your job.

my dad earns over the threshold so i get non-income assessed loans and im in my final year so i get less. Im just glad i was being taxed too much last year when i was on placement so im getting that money back now im not working

Save for it?! Nahhhh parents will help me, won't they? They had better lol. In all seriousness I plan to have 2800 saved from this year, make say 2k in the holidays working (max) and I go into next year with 4.8 in the bank. Parents pay tutition and accommodation. In the third year, if I get a 2:1 level I will be doing a year in industry which will pay for my final year, if I don't, ********! It's the only Masters sandwich course in Chem Eng that takes 4 years, all the othes take 5.
