Styling JayD's Stilo Project

If you had a skyroof I would have said black but with it being a solid roof i'd say stay white. looks smart I think.

Hmm I think I agree with you, someone was on about it at work saying that I should do the bottom of the front & rear bumper and the boot door black also and maybe the side skirts, what do you think?

To me that will just look like your car has had to have new parts and you aint had time to do them the right colour and mariocinq I would say the stilo is more german styling than jap

Hmm I have to agree with both of you, I don't think it'd look that nice (black boot panel would look like a Volvo in my eyes as one model they make always have a black boot panel and looks vile tbh in my eyes)

So sticking to the colour it is now,
But here is a quick question for you guys witch possibly you could help me with I know the Stilo has the box style air filter, I was wondering can this be changed to a cone? I've googled no look

Today I have had under the hood literally in bits, I've had the air filter and box out for cleaning (more mpg I hope) head lights out for cleaning, and measuring might treat myself to some Angels ;) and also sticker bombed the front logo, will upload photos at some point tomorrow,
Plan for tomorrow is wash and wax to give it more of a shine and a little protection (turtle wash & wax is currently in pound land)

Anything els you guys can think off me doing?

Think I'm going to order fake vents/scope for it this week or window tint witch one do you guys think?

Here guys thought I'd save you waiting...

How much?
Cost me nothing....

How did I do it?
Simple...
Tights..

How?
1x knife
1x tool box
1x spanner
1x single pair of tights

How to do it...
Remove rear head lights (I took all carpet out and plastics to make life easier) make sure you unplug them 1st though! Get the tights (I used average but tbh get fu**ing XXL! If you can) as they where really really a struggle to put on, when pulled over (I went top/skinny to bottom/wide) then when pulled over the headlights and peaced the tights over the plastic to keep them in place, then used a knife to open up a hole big enough to plug the lights wire back in, screw back into place, plug wire back in bam they look smoked!!!

Cheep way to make your lights look smoked!

I like the look of the tinted lights. Be careful of the legality of them though, as far as i know you need to leave the reflectors untinted.

Do you have a numberplate bulb out or do the stilos only come with one?

I'm pretty sure they are illegal tbh but they are not tinted very dark so I would possibly get away with it,

And the Stilo has two bulbs but one of mine is out :p

Actually, you prob ok, as long as when car head lights shine on them the reflector shines back they are legal and the colours are the right colour then there is bob all the law can do.

Although, be careful with the tights, you will get some little **** like I used to be will walk past at some point and use his key or ring to ladder the tights, it was a big thing back in the early 90's and then again around 2005 to do this and I believe its coming around again as I have seen loads with them.

What makes me laugh is its only £5.99 for a tin of the proper smoking spray to tint them properly lol

You know me trying to do a budget job lol, the only reason I haven't got them done properly is because I'm looking at some Lexus style rear lights (search on eBay fiat Stilo Lexus rear lights) black ones are the ones I'm looking at, if I intended to keep the rear lights I'd smoke them properly but no point in my eyes

Plus my MOT is in September and tbf I don't think it's going to pass so might end up getting a new car, but will keep the Stilo to either sell, break or track ready it but not after spending loads on a car that might have to go soon :( don't want to get rid but if new car cheaper I'll have no choose :(

But I am looking at buying a cheap 2nd hand (maybe broke) Stilo and breaking it for parts I need and selling the rest, while I'm at it does anyone want any bits? I will probably sell dirt cheap so I just make my money back as not bothered about profit but if people want parts that I'll have on the Donner car I will sell (roughly £15 a part I'd guess) except little bits ovs be like £5 but door panels ect probably go for £25 + £7 shipping I don't know I'll decide at the time and would be cheaper the more you buy, just an idea if I decide to get a Stilo Donner car, depending if people would want the parts also I guess

It'd be a shame to see your car go for parts, however there's a little section in ff for selling... I know our 03 and 05 stilos need/will need parts so hit me up if you do. But hopefully it won't come to that ?? cars looking sweet btw let us know how ur MOT goes, I'm pretty sure all stilo owners panic on the lead up to mot day....

I will let you know, hopefully it don't come to that though!!!

Well for MOT I need...
2 new rear tiers (there currently illegal)
Endless amount of bulbs.
4 new break pads.
New belts.

Optinal but could be done with being done...
New sparks.
Air filter.
Boot sensor.

What I thinks going...
Electrics (not MOT failure unless really bad)

Tbh car don't need much but I've got months to go yet and today I can hear a annoying noise under the hood someone said it might be the belt slipping, yet they look fine?

would be a shame to see it broken but I totally understand it, I am facing the same desision with my MW, the cost of sorting it is fast approaching the cost of a fresh motor.

Plus I want a Honda Civic type r :/
But never want to get rid of my Stilo but when it's costing me more then it's worth it's not being fixed :(

But I like the look of the Stilo more then the civic, (bar ep3) but the type r engine is stupidly powered!

But someone suggested engine swapping, but that would cost me more then 3 type r's or like 10 stilos surly lol but might look deeper into it...

Ive never been a lover of type r sorry mate if I go jap I would have to have a nissan almera vzr as these have a turbo (200bhp) and non turbo (178bhp) option and there a 1.6 and more rarer to see on the streets
