ipod software? itunes??

right ok, so when i wiped my comp, i lost everything, which included my ipod stuff, and guess what? i thought oh i wont need that disk again and threw it so what do i need? do i just need itunes or is there another thing i need? (its not working with just itunes)

its the 30gb video one if that makes any difference?

yes i already got itunes from apple, but dont work, it says new hardware, enter disk....

right well have you selected browse the web for yada yada?also run windows update.

have you checked the downloads on apples site,i saw an ipod software updater but thats probanbly not what you need

Windows xp and 2000 auto detect the ipod, but windows update like sugested might work?

See if it appears in device manager when its pluged in (Right click my computer > Properties > HArdware > Device manager)
