Technical Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

Just cobbled a make shift bracket together (washing up liquid bottle and a mouse mat) to come up with this more or less final effort.

Current software does not support track ID on the headunit but all controls work. (but not shuffle :()

lardarse - YOU ARE A LEGEND!

That's it - your routine works - I have CDC SCAN being displayed and audio coming through. This unit is 50% working, I get sound - thats all I care about! (well, sort of - shuffle would be nice!!).

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!

In case others are wondering ... lardarse's routine is as follows

dock ipod in cradle,
turn on ignition and wait until "No CD" is displayed
THEN start engine
"CDC Scan" comes up and takes ages (5-10mins)
then turn Nav+ off and back on again.

Now back to Dension for the remaining problems!!

After you hear music whats showing on the head unit and ipod screen?

Once its worked try stopping the engine, turning on the ignition waiting 2 seconds and starting the engine.

Im not sure the shuffle is ever going to work properly so Ive got 2 of the playlists as smart playlist on Random (198 random songs should do most of my long drives ;))

sorry for the long delay - I'm moving house at the moment. ipod screen shows the track being played. no controls on the ipod work, but there is sound.

But do all of the head unit and steering wheel controls work? If so I think you've cracked it mate,

Whenever one of you guys manage to get shuffle and play/stop/next/back working on the i-pod i think i'll buy myself an ice-link. It must be so grat to have hundreds of songs just lying in your glovebox!!!!!!!!

Good luck (y) (y)

They do! The only flaky sapect is Shuffle which will only work for 100 tracks

100 tracks seems more than ok for 99% of my driving so it looks like i might be gettin' me an ice link soon!!!!!!
By the way what happens when you turn your car off???? does it remember the track when you turn it on again???

In this repect its better than the normal CD! Yes - it remembers exactly where you were up to last time you used the unit - altho you need to press play twice for some reason before resuming.

Installed the newest firmware this afternoon :p - a bit of a whim really but it looks as though it has gone on okay.

Went for a little drive and noticed something "potentially" useful. One limit thus far has been a maximum of 99 tracks per playlist. Today I pressed the wrong cd button (i was listening to cd 2 (playlist 2) but inadvertantly pressed button number 2 again) this caused the ipod to jump forward to track 100 (although the head unit called it track "00") and it continued to about track 120ish. This may have been a bug and possibly will never be repeated but heres hoping!

So does does this ipod connection think acually work then is it worth me getting it.

I'm still having trouble with mine - but then again I haven't upgraded to the latest firmware, lardarse is having much more luck and it's working for him. If I was absolutely honest, then buy from a decent supplier who will take the unit back if you're not happy, or it just doesn't work as expected, the guy I mentioned earlier on in this thread was happy to take the unit back and refund - but I managed to get sound through it - and I'm happy to keep trying.

Yes it wrks great - no probs at all to speak of since my last post. As to whether or not its worth getting for you is down to personal choice. Its 100000 times better than itrip.

Hi - I have the Alfa 147 connect nav+ system and have just purchased the icelink plus for a third of the price on ebay!! Anyway, has anyone finally sorted their problems of the thing being recognised intermittently etc etc because this is getting more and more frustrating!

At the risk of sounding boring :D THIS IS A GREAT BIT OF KIT

It not quite a ronseal product (it doesnt quite do what it says on the tin) BUT Im listening to my iPod twice a day every day for upto an hour at a time and once a week update the "shuffle" lists and mi podcasts.

I have to do s forced scan 2 or 3 times a week but it cures any bugs immediately every time

Ipod Connection For Stilo Connect Nav+

Made mistake in not getting the cd changer with the car, but think it will be better for an ipod. the problem is I have the satnav+ and there is no conection free in the back. I have seen on ebay the one i need but the blue plug is not free.
Has anyone managed to instal an ipod

Got my new video iPod at the back end of last week and just plucked up the courage to mate it with the Dension

Good news is that it worked first time :p
Bad news is its JUST a little wider than the last gen ipod photo and its quite a tight squeeze in the dock.
