Technical Indicator Stalk change

Hi,

I have a slight problem with my Indicator stalk, with the headlights on dipped beam each time I indicate left the headlight's either flicker or turn off for a few second's then come back on. I've been told it's a common problem and I need to replace the indicator stalk. Only problem is it's not just the indicator stalk, it's the wiper stalk and airbag squib too.

Has anyone come across this problem and how hard is to change??

Is it under warranty?

Changing the switch is easy as it's only a 5mm allen bolt, awkward bit is removing the airbag.

It isn't a difficult job by any means,35 minutes including waiting for 15 after disconnecting the battery.

However the squibs aren't cheap.

Make sure to check the bottom connector on your bodycomputer. The pins can burn up over time causing too much resistance.

No it's a an 06 plate

I'm in the trade, £44.44 plus VAT for the part. got the part number today and part is coming on Monday or Tuesday. Dreading taking the squib out though never done one before.

im sure it will just click out
be sure to tape it up so it doesnt spring off in a direction though thus causing failure in the coming weeks
keep steery wheel straight ahead at all times

If they do I've yet to discover how when stripping a whole unit down previously.

that sounds very cheap, have mine to do as flasher stopped working after something went crack.
