I appreciate the links whitz ill have a look through them as I was saying its nice to have people that are willing to help out, I'm more often than not on here on a crappy blackberry so don't have the luxury of being able to access the classifieds or faqs therefore links are extremely helpful

yeah thats the prob i have when i come on via my andriod phone, i think the problem is that there are a lot of idiots that come on here as it is the biggest forum for fiats and it unfortinatly attracts all the dreamers and idiots attached to first cars. but unfortinatly it has a knock on affect against the gen people like yourself, i had it alot when i first signed up and first had the idea of supercharging a cinq but all i got was a link to a thread where a lad tried to charge a punto and failed and when i tried to find out why (it wasnt totally clear in the thread) i just got "it cant be done" well upon my own long research it can but the crank needs modifying lol

dont let it phase you and if you need any help i am happy to help as i beleive thats what this type of forum is for.
 
That's exactly the problem I have I can't even open the search feature I can sometimes get on the classifieds but only when someone comments on my ads I get there via the email link

I'm a pretty competent diy mechanic and I'm confident in doing anything on a car by using common sense and basic knowlage but things like guessing ecu pins would take a life time, but isn't that why were all here?? To share experience,knowledge and our opinions?? And occasionally drool over other peoples pride and joys aswell as have a bit of banter at the same time :)

Really appreciate the people that have helped out and offered advice

Well even if ur no expert your great for moral support :D lol

Anyway, I went to have a look at this possible donor car for the trailer idea this evening and hopefully tomorrow Ill get chance to pop to see the owner of it, she's a complete dog but from a quick glance it looks solid, the roof is creased and the n/s rear quarter is a little dented but nothing that can't be ironed out, hopefully ill be able to take it off his hands for little or no wonga as its been there for years apparently, ill let you guys know how it goes tomorrow :)

i like to think i know a little about a lot but i am far from an expert lol. the beauty about these cars is the fact that they are basically common sense and so easy to work on, i did an 1108 to 1242 8v swap in a cinq in 10hrs(iirc) running to running they are that easy and that was my first attemp at it and i was on my own with no engine hoist, there are a few peeps on here that i would class as very very knowledgable but not met a perfect expect (by my opinion) yet.
 
Well after meeting the guy that has the cinq sat in his garden I'm now contemplating buying although I'm not sure about the price, he's said I can have it for scrap, but I think he's being optimistic, he says its worth 120 all day in scrap :/, the n/s rear quarter is stoved in, the dassenger door is stoved in the boot has a dent on one of the top corners and the underside and engine bay is white with mold and all 4tyres are flat, has anyone weighed one of these in recently ??, I've also been offered a rear end of one from the scrap yard but it would have to be cut off at the yard, my worry is that as soon as the back is cut off that it will become very flimsy and maybe even twist, any ideas on either if the issuses, what would you guys do, I thought about making up some bars out of box section that I could bolt to the one at the scrap yard to brace before we break out the gas axe as it is a very clean straight example

Ok soo first annoying issue has shown it head :p

Walked out to the car this morning and as I went to unlock my car to then realise the missus had already opened her door, hit the remote button and only my door had locked last night

Not a major issue but still an ennoying problem, does anyone know if the cl door motor/mech from the sei fit the cinq or are they totally different?? Cheers

Right sooo after having a fiddle today I decided to whip the door card off and have the motor out after a quick gander at the cinq manual (cheers andy btw its been really helpful) it was out and off to the shed I hopped :p

After pulling it apart and loosing the tiny ball bearing I hit the motor with 12v and it spun up, I put it back together (minus a bb) and put it back on the car and hey presto it works again :p

So now that annoying bit is outa the way its time to get on with some mods :) I decided I want atleast a horman front bumper, skirts and arches, so if anyone has one or comes across one ;)

I had a bit of a photoshoot a few days back so I might get them up soon :) I know there hasn't been many recently but to be honest nothing has really been a problem :)
