I find myself in the position of having the origional barrel failed (unable to turn key in any direction) barrel feels solid.
Have removed the transponder and can put the key next to it so can start the car at least via rear contact rotary switch.
Seems few choices to repair, have seen barrels with keys (not chiped) just wondered if anyone has had any experience of fitting one of these barrels and how well it worked.
Asked a garage locally, said they could fit a switch & push button start to act as a starter but they want around £100 ouch.
Looking at the barrel fitting looks like the stering column would have to be dropped is that correct ?
