Just checked, they changed in 99, so it could be either.
Well there are a few on ebay atm and I've sent a few emails to the sellers asking the usual if they are complete engins with ancillaries and ecu, loom etc and got one message back about a 1999 mk1 1.2 16v engine that had no loom with it.
Cheap engine - £120 with a claimed 60k on the clock but with no Loom is that asking for trouble and hard work?
Loving these 1.2 16v engines though theres tons of them and not too expensive either!
Are they all FIRE engines btw?
Yeah, that guy has done a very good job. It's certainly one of the best i've seen in terms of overall package, especially body and shell work. I'm not totally convinced by the engine, but he doesn't explain what he has done, other than he got a new engine, ported it a lot and put huge Webers on it.Serious, serious nutjob work here.
Look at those twin-webbers!!!!!!!!
-edit-
I need those clear front lights and lenses though!!!!!!!!!!!! Where can I get a set? Mine are all foggy and faded.
there'd be no lobe on the cam to drive a fuel pump, and no easy (read cheap) way of fitting a dizzy. there was a 1368cc 16v kicking about on carbs and dizzy, but afaik it was converted back to EFI
Will need to get new ones I'd have thought.
Jon.
You know any decent online stores?
Classic Panda parts are harder to find than Lancia Y10 Anti-roll bars!
After all I think again...the best option it's engine from Punto I 75
1242ccm, 8V, MPI - easy to fit, looks the same, enough power for Panda.
I found it a very easy swap. Would do it again in the future.
Not as many engines for sale when you compare to punto 60 and the 16v versions.
Good luck getting one
Cheers
Dave
Are the mk1 1.2 16v engines not MPI?
no, there SPI although i expect if you had the MPI manifolds injectors and ECU then i dont see why you couldnt convert it. would need an uprated fuel pump i expect.
