How s**t are the NHS

How s**t are the NHS

My father recently went to have a routine operation to fix his hearing in a private hospital, they let him out the next day (too early imo), whilst in hospital he contracted an infection which caused him lose all balance and not just undo the operation, but caused permanent deafness in his left ear and uncontrollable vomiting at home, he was rushed to an NHS hospital where he received brilliant treatment on a clean ward with excellent nurses, consultants and other professionals.

So before you moan about your free healthcare, think about all the times a friend or relative has been well looked after and treated in a professional manner, I'll bet nobody has created a thread about that.

I have been through 15 ops on my ears ..first one was when I was 20 cos I hemorrhaged while working over in northern Ireland ..once you start undergoing treatment it just degenerates and gets gradually worse so I know how he feels ..every op I had I contacted an infection in the stitches ..the worst part tho is when they remove the 3ft long packing that they ram down the ear after each op ..now that really smarts when they remove that one

The same is true for my father, he is now 50 and has been going through this since he was 25.

Ears are a difficult one, you can't just have a 'transplant'. It's a very intricate part of the human body.

Really 3ft are you exagerating a bit, i had my nose job a couple of months ago and i thought the tampon being pulled from my brain hurt enough.

As I said Chris I know how he feels to lose one of your senses ..I would be nice to be able to hear the birds singing with natural hearing as hearing aids [I ware two] don't have the same natural sound however sophisticated they are (n) constant discharge from the ears is also a problem [guessing he has that as well ] and needs another op to get rid of deep seated infection .which the clinic I visit wont do because they feel in the NHS that you are an old git and past your usefulness to society (n) and @ volxstu nope its 3ft and covered in a yellow antiseptic ..

local doctors are great
never been in hospital bar casualty
dentist is private as we have no nhs places left.

thankfully for you then the private option is open

:yeahthat:

And many dentists are refusing to take on NHS patients as they get more money privately. Perhaps Volxstu should be blaming the private sector healthcare system rather than saying "how s** are the NHS"?

Without the NHS the UK would fall apart. Literally. Think of all those people that need healthcare but have no money to pay for it. What would they do? Yes, get even more sick. Suddenly a run down and underfunded NHS ward that has an 80% success rate and only a handful of MRSA cases per year seems quite attractive when you've no money and are in excruciating pain and need treatment.

touch wood, never had to go into hospital for anything major, broken finger, deviated septum, swollen elbow, family that i've taken in or visited always been well looked after by effcient and professional staff...by which i mean the nurses, who appear to always be working under incredibly tough conditions.

My main problem is the nureses arnt thery sexy lookin :(

I don't know how you can say that. Look at the picture below VVVVV

Of course, you could always have me as a nurse. I'm very sexy and I always use extra long needles when giving injections to BAD patients

Really? Ok, I have access to phosphate enemas and I'm not afraid to use them

i can think of at least 4 hospitals in north west and west london, where there are nurses who could easily be doing modelling.......

Aw Jai, you didn't really need to say that about me. You'll make me blush

:p

i think the nhs are fine (y), i havent had any problems with them myself :p

contracted asthma when i was little and they helped me through that, when i found out that i was epileptic in 2002 they helped me through that.
