Since owning my JTD I have only changed my alarm batteries only once. But i've read up on some differences when people have been replacing batteries.

My keys originally had 1xCR2032 batteries inside, but i've heard of people putting 2xCR2016 batteries in. According to the batteries they are both 3V, but if you fit 2xCR2016 batteries your putting in an equivalent of 6V.

The owners manual only says replace with the same batteries. No reference to what type is required.

I've never had any problems with the 1xCR2032 batteries i've used over the years but im going to be replacing my batteries once again and was wondering which to use.

Whats every one else use? Could the changes be because of MK1 and MK2 alarm keys?

Well MK1 shape but with the little tweeks Fiat gave them from the T plate on-wards. Damn Im not sure tbh becasue I havent got my car at the moment as its being repaired after my prang! Jug prob will tell us tomorrow (y)

Hmmm, what to fit??? 2xCR2016 or 1xCR2032.

Both my remotes take one battery and have been like that for over a year and a half. One of my keys still has the original battery Fiat put in CR2016.

I was thinking in terms of 3Volts vs 6Volts, which is the correct voltage to use with these alarm fobs.

either way the current will be the same (batts are in series), and voltage is irrelevant since the voltage divider sorts it out.
