How long to Reset ECU???

I want to reset my ECU and was wondering how long does it take to reset? I was planning on doing it tonight and leaving it over night but its too late and dark now. So was hoping to reset tomorrow morning.

The minimum is 45 minutes, you can leave it longer but it makes no difference.
The important thing is not to rev it once you first restart it. Leave it idling for 5 minutes, then switch off. You can then drive it normally again (once you restart ti obviously!)
You will get crap fuel economy for the first 100 miles or so

I was wondering, does driving with the red key reset the ECU also??? I went today to pick up my blue key at fiat and they told me do not drive with the red key because it resets all...hmmm a bit too late for that, been using it for 2 weeks!

What difference does resetting the ECU make?, im considering reseting mine if it has an effect on performance or economy.

If there is nothing wrong with your car then it won't do anything.

If your car has had 'issues' or you've fitted a new exhaust or new injectors or an induction kit then it needs to relearn the engine. Otherwise just leave it.

I've had a new exhaust fitted hence why i have reset my ECU.

i just taken off a induction kit off mine, put in £25 worth of petrol and only got 190 miles, would resetting it help, is it a just a case of un pugging it then plugging it back in ,,,,,,,,,it cant be that simple can it?

It will help. Unplug the battery overnight.

i dissconevted my battery for about 2 hours the cleaned up all the terminals and copper greased them connected it back up.....

i then started it up without reving it..........

the revs went to about 1500rpm then left it ideling for 5 minutes and it came down gradually to betwenn 800 rpm 900 rpm..........is this about right what happens

hopefully it worked as i was getting **** ecenomy with that induction kit on it..........

That brings me on to say..

Before Angeltuning (on really cold mornings) my car would idle at 1600rpm. never seen it any higher than that.
After Angeltuning (on really cold mornigns) my car now idles at 1300rpm.

Awesome bit of kit that angel thingymajig.
