General How do i remove the rear light cluster?

Open the boot on the inside of the pillar at the top you will see a round cover remove this and you will see the retaining nut remove this, then below the parcel shelf in the same area you will see a hole in the carpet this is where the second and final retaining nut is, remove this and you can now pull the light away from the body enough to romove wiring plug then you can remove totally from car undo 4 screws and remove bulb holder to get to the bulbs.

In your spare wheel tool kit, if you have one and its all there, you will find a little black plastic tool to remove them if there to tight.

Ok, so i removed both light clusters and checked the bulbs and connections on each....everything seems fine

Strange because i have noticed that when i indicate left, everything works fine, but when i indicate left, the rear indicator doesn't come on...but the side and the front do, but they go at twice the speed!!!!

I think it could be a fuse, but dont know where the fuse box is...

PLEASE HELP :(

Franny

well, the indicator bulb on that side has melted the paint off it, but it looks in tact.

Also, i used the bulb from the left in the socket on the right....and still nothing.

When i take the bulb out of the one that doesn't work...then try using the indicator with no bulb in, it still goes twice as fast...

But when i put a bulb in that i know works, it still does the same thing.

I have checked the fuse box and every fuse is perfect :(

I AM STUCK :(

Somebody mentioned that it could be the relay???

Is this true?

How would i test the relay to see if it is the issue...

what does the relay look like? where is it?

Thankyou goldie, you are a lifesaver :)

Franny

The relay is on the underside of the steering column, you will need to remove the lower cover to get to it.

If the relay is working as it should then you should be able to here it click from it (as you try the indicators) otherwise try putting your finger on it you should feel it.

Also try removing it and refitting it (make sure its turned off first)

Otherwise it could be down to the wiring.
