Just bought this back box off ebay, what bits do i need to fit it to my mk2 8v x reg 1.2? Apparently i need a fitting kit, where do i get that from? what do i do with that straight peice of metal sticking out of it? Argh im such a noob! how much do you reckon it would cost me to get it fitted proffesionally? I dont wanna make any silly mistakes!

Wow what a big picture. First off if its the back box for the car it should go straight on. Give it the eye ball n see if it looks like it will fit.. UL need some ramps to back the car on to, as well as the odd socket wrench & maybe a hammer & rubber mallet. And Some exhaust paste, also check the rubbers while ur under the car. The best way of getting these off is to use some washing up liquid and a screw driver. It's a simple job.. If it fits just take ur time (y)

How much did you pay for that? It looks ****e.

I was offered fitting for my back box for £40 with bumper modifications if needed.

It will need welding on or you'll have to put two slits in the pipe so it can be clamped on. You'll probably need a reducer as well.

Correct me if im wrong but im sure the guy only asked about fitting the exhaust, not what you thought it looked like!:bang: These sort of opinions do nothing to promote the good name Fiat Forum has built up for itself over the years.(n)
PLEEEEEEEASE, if you havent got anything good to say about other peoples taste etc, then dont post anything! We all have different taste, each to their own!:slayer:

Fair enough, I always try to help if I can. (y)

You can probably bend the bar coming off the top of it into an S shape, cut off the excess and use a universal rubber mount from Halfords to mount it to something. Drill a hole under the car, put a bolt through and it should be secure. If you don't want to take it somewhere because of the cost of fitting like I said you will need to cut two slots about 3mm wide in the pipe to go on the existing exhaust, these will let it close up around the existing pipe when you put a clamp on. If you need a reducer or a bend you can get them from car shops for about £10-£20. Use Gun Gum to seal up the joint and get it airtight. This is not as good as welding it on but it does the trick.

This is what I did, I drilled a hole through the boot so I can get to the bolt to put the nut on under the spare wheel.

Nah I agree, it dosent look that great. I payed £24 for it. cant really afford a more expensive one. Not too bothered about how it looks tbh anyway!

Hmmm.... the auction said it was for a fiat punto. damn. :(

yeah it was, bought from exactly the same dealer 'bestnikesintown' (hehe you can tell his a chav!). So this is going to be really hard to fit by myself. Il probably just wack it back on ebay. Bit annoying as it should be alright if i fit it!

No, luckily i didnt :D . So in all what will i need? I wanna go to the motorists centre tomorrow and buy everything to fit it!
 
it looks min i did have a 58 plate with a 5 slash pipe on cucstom made but it makes car take to much air in on a 1.2 and dstroyed engine but i dropped a 2 lirte 20 v in and **** it loud with it just go demon tweeks they will do everthin for 90 pound mate and it will sound gd my motto is bigger the better lol plus savage are gd and my old cherry bomb exhaust is loud to

this is probably a dumb question, I have just bought a Stilo JTD 2002 estate

As our beloved Punto HLX 16 valve was wiped out a few weeks ago by a driving fool,

The insurance company are allowing me to remove a few bits off eg boot cd multichager and locking wheel nuts I suppose the back box on the Punto fitted with entire system last month won't fit the Stilo which needs one?:worship:

HELP!!! i bought a new back box last week for my punto 1.2 8v. I also bought a new clamp and some fire gum to seal the joint. i removed the old back box cleaned the part of the exhaust that the back box slides onto put a good amount of fire gum onto the pipe. fitted the new back box and clamped it. fitted the new rubber. whole job took about 30 mins.

the problem i have is that the exhaust is blowing from the clamped joint. what have i done wrong... PLEASE HELP:bang:
