Changed instrument cluster in my daughters Fiat 500 (2009) I need to change to mileage and get a proxy alignment. Anyone know of anyone in the Bournemouth/Poole or just Dorset area that may be able to help? TIA

Hi, 🙂

look on the forums MES register 😉

As MultiECUscan software is what you want access to 👍

If this is the first time with the 500 there are a few very well known issues to check
Hatch wiring, does everything work on the boot lid?
Engine earth strap requires replacing at 7 years or so, might have been done but check?
If Bluetooth fitted does it work?
Given the age check the rear beam axle for rust/cracking

Already done the boot loom, bluetooth all works. Now I've changed the cluster everything works as it should, just need the mileage sync and proxy alignment.
Looking at engine mounts today as has a kangaroo type judder when taking foot off accelerator. New clutch and fork done already so not that.
The joys of a 500!

Check the dog bone on the rear bottom of the engine, does it mainly happen just after start up when cold? I've noticed on our 09 car it can happen when you have very slight throttle on going slowly, not checked our dog bone, just drive round the problem ie dip the clutch the moment it starts and let out again

There's a suggestion that super unleaded 99 RON may help, not sure if it does but having run ours the last 3-4 months on it it hasn't done it as much, however its warmer? Others suggest cleaning the airflow sensor in the throttle body.

Changed the bottom mount today and the old one was falling apart! Loads better but still need to change one of the top mounts thats badly worn too. Will see how that goes and try the super next time it needs filling up. Thank you for all the help

Maybe I should look at ours as its only about £20+

One bolt cant come out unless the engine is lifted a bit. This makes a two-bolt part a bit of a pain to change. If you dont have lift-off / power-on knocks or slop, and movement of the gear lever is a classic sign, dont change this as a precaution as you may not need to do so. You can of course also slack off / remove the exhaust I believe as an alternative.
