Technical help please

Just purchased a 2009 Fiat 500. When I open the driver door, there is a loud warning buzzer. Is it supposed to do this? Can it be tuned off? Thank you.

Sorry, there was another matter. When in Automatic mode, and increasing speed, there seems to a slight lag going up to mode 5. It might be me but it doesn't feel quite right. Anyone experienced this issue? Is it fixable? Thanks.
