Does 2011 fiat panda rear springs bottom end need some sort of rubbers ie doughnut shaped that sit in the carrier to suppress knocking noise. I noticed at the top there is one but the bottom seems to be steel on steel thanks

There's only one at the top

The bottom has a locating ridge on the axle, so it needs to be turned so the bottom of the spring lines up with it

Here's what I mean

Couldn't find a decent photo, but it's more obvious when it's in front of you

It's slightly shaped so the spring has to be rotated to match

Thanks yes I understand what you mean I have chipped away at the surface rust then brushed with wire brush I was wondering whether to change them or paint with anti corrosion paint and reuse them there is no cracks or breaks

There no guarantees but they are normally fine

If they are scabby you might get an advisory on a MOT, but unless seriously weakened shouldn't fail

Two pandas of mine just under and over 200K miles were both on the original springs, one of those spent time driving across fields and farm trakes

I doubt there anything to be gained from changing them

Once again thanks

Makes no difference

Only the hole size and length of the metal sleeve

New ones look closer to original equipment
Shocks to me
