Head back on. Both manifolds connected and a bit if the electrics are done, but time and weather got th ebetter of me.

Thanks for your comments and advice littlepip17, can I just check what you mean by "also make sure you get the pin lined up on the bottom pulley or it wont start", do you mean the TDC mark on the crank pully?

Cheers again
Phil

Right all back together......but I have good news and bad news

Good news...started almost straight away

Bad news....it rev very high all on its own and I am getting a lot of white smoke from exhaust and in engine bay. There is also smoke from where you top oil up.

Any Ideas?????????????

I have had a word with mech mate and he said high revving is because bad seal of inlet manifold......due to plastic melted. He has given me one off an engine he had at garage this has similar damage but not as bad as mine, I might swap them over to see if any better. The smoke he thinks is down to water sitting in exhaust due to HG going and just needs a good run to blow it all out.

Anybody got a inlet manifold for a 1.2 8v Punto for sale thats not got any heat damage??

Cheers again
Phil
