help!!! it's too cold to paddle!!!

After recent heavy rain the drivers footwell on my 99 bravo 80sx filled with water. I have removed the plastic under the windsceen wipers to check the drainage roots and they are all clear. Previous messages hinted towards this problem being the sunroof or ariel seals but the headlining is dry and the drains from the sunroof recess are clear to the sills.
I've run out of ideas. Can anybody help?

If you can narrow it down to the passenger footwell;

When you take the scuttle panel off (the plastic guard that covers the wiper motor, that sists on the bottom of the windscreen - for the uninitiated into the terminology), there is an air intake for your heater matrix. This intake should have a "cover/guard" to stop the ingress of water - is it still in place?

This caused major problems in my first Bravo and took weeks to find where the water was coming from.

Check and see if the carpet is wet right up to the top of the sill. If it is, this usually points to the plastic membrane at the back of the door panel letting water trickle down behind the door card. Either it's not stuck down properly or it's split. This usually only happens if you've had it off for some reason, i.e.new speakers.

when my sunroof leaked i found the roof lining wasn't wet as well!

The water travells down the roof then down the A piller into the foot well,
arefully pull the plastic trim off down the pillar(twisting action) and check if that is wet!
