Evening all.

I wonder if you could help me identify this part. It's a bracket on the end of the cast manifold which is completely missing on my panda. Just had it flagged by a tyre fitter & even though it hasn't been missed, it was put there for a reason, so I'd like to put it back.

It's a circular piece of flat metal which bolts onto a bracket attached to the bell housing.

Any help with identifying the part, so I can get a fresh one & put it back would be great. It's on an 05 Panda 1.2 petrol.

Looks very much like it should be welded to the part of the exhaust pipe it is touching and it has just rusted away.

there should be a complete loop of metal that clamp around the exhaust by the bolt. Most of it looks missing.

Should be an MOT failure. But is often missed

I always look at the beakers. But have never found one. Most of the fiat of this era are the same. Every time I go either they are already been taken off or in a bad state.

its fairly easy to fabricate a new one.

Thanks everyone.

I'll keep an eye out for a suitable clamp. A standard exhaust clamp in a larger diameter would probably do it, but would pull the end of the engine mounted bracket into the side of the pipe, so I might try some sort of strap clamp and bolt it through using the bolt on the photo, or even use a thin sheet of mild steel and recreate the original clamp with two holes in the end to bolt through. Funnily enough I went through the Haynes manual, and why I couldn't see a similar clamp on the petrol models, I did spot a similar clamp on the diesel model photos it's mounted differently, but I assume the original clamp which has rotted away was this kind of shape (circled in red). Shouldn't be too hard to make something up.

I made a new wrap around clamp but it was too weak to give any useful support. It needs the folded up sides or metal so thick a DIY can't bend it.

I ended up with an ordinary U/C style exhaust clamp with a bracket across it's top bolts.

Looks like the Corsa D has the same clamp. Bet I passed one in the breakers and never even looked. Comes with many part numbers. Wonder how much fiat or Vauxhall charge. It really is a £2 part
