First Post. Not an electrician or a contortionist. I am attempting to replace resistor. I've seen posts here and vids on YT. When I came to get old resistor out I didn't seem to have the same set up as all the videos. Am I missing something.?

Any (helpful) advice would be most welcome.

The casing looks like a heatsink which is held by those clips. Should come off quite easily if i'm not completely mistaken. What you have there is a thermal fuse.

You have digital climate control which doesn't use simple resistors but more complicated PWM regulator. You can find replacements by searching for part number 55702441.

Those controllers don't fail nearly as resistors so I would suggest to check is there power to it (bigger 2-pin connector with black and red wire) and state of contacts (are they black or damaged in any way).
On my car pins overheated and caused motor to stop working at all. I cleaned pins and replaced connector with crimp terminals and everything works as it should. Pics in attachment
