Are they Self Tappers? I cant remember been a long while since i've done taillights....
What type of Head - Buttong aint they? not countersunk?

either way 3.5 x 15mm will bring alot of Screws up the Radio Controlled Car industry
Avoid a brand called HPI - they are made of cheese (miss my R/c's tho :( )

If they are self Tappers, a Machine Thread should do the job the same

Self tappers I think, cross head screw, must have another look at them to see if button head, they have a kind of metal disc under head that seems to be stuck to head. Not sure what that is called, looks kind of like a washer but not seperate from head.

I could only find 3.5 x 13mm online, that would be too short wouldn't it?

Thanks for identifing what they are.

Haen't tried removing yet, need to borrow a couple of tools (or get someone stronger to try!)

Hi

Went to hardware shop but couldn't find similar machine thread ones, does it matter if they have cross head or flat head or do I need to use cross head if thats what originals are?

Would you have a link online to the correct ones to buy? I didn't have much luck.

Thanks for your help, really appreciate it, I am a bit clueless about this kind of stuff

Colinf1 if you have a spare that would be fantastic :D

Had a look today, cant seem to find the spare ones that I had, cant remember if I used them.

But, found a similiar screw that fits and should be easy to get.

The screws that hold a light switch/socket face to the wall are the same thread, tested a 1inch and it screws all the way in, just needs a small washer on it. You should be able to get those in most places, just aslong as there 1 inch or smaller they'll fit.

Thanks, is the diameter 3.5mm for the washer and screw?

The thread will be M3.5 meaning 3.5mm diameter standard metric thread. The length is measured from the underside of the head. The best option is a screw extractor that can cut into the mangled crosshead dimple and unscrews it normally. No need for a power screwdriver.

I would replace it (and ALL of the others) with a hex socket heads with separate washers. You can get stainless on ebay for a few pennies. Or these (if 10mm is long enough)

I use a local fasteners factors (who are happy to sell the odd screw for cash) or http://www.pro-bolt.com/

Thanks
