I've had the 5th gear casing cover off the gearbox in my Punto HGT, to check for obstruction to the 3rd/4th gear selector lever (common issue it seems).
If anyone else has has this cover off, and lost the associated oil, have you taken any special measures to get oil back into the casing once the cover is back on?
Having gone to refill it through the regular filler hole, the gearbox appeared to be full despite losing a couple of hundred ml from the fifth gear casing. I'm hoping it will just gradually equalise (as no special service procedure seems to be documented anywhere) - meaning I will need to top up at some point - but any words of wisdom welcome!
