Hi,I am going to try and change blown head gasket on my 2000 reg 8 valve punto.
Is their any specialist tools i need to get before i try this job.
Is it necessary to put the car up on jacks at the front, and then support the engine by jacking up the sump?

This job has been covered MANY times on here..

The cinq is the same ..as was my 1108 panda.

The GUIDES will show you all you need to know.

Ps. Raising the front end is counterproductive.. makes lifting heavy parts even more awkward

Settle sump down on a box.. you may- may not ...need to remove the engine mount.

Did on my panda.. but dont recall having to on my puntos and cinqs

RIBE tools for the headbolts ?

Worth swapping thermostat if you suspect any issues ;)

I leave intake manifold ON.. saves grief..labour..and gaskets.

I feel like you really should pay a professional to do it for you

Jeepers..

For the same labour you can have a new engine.. and clutch ..fitted

( plenty of 'mechanics' will charge the labour rate..and just spend 20 minutes with this)

Agreed :) I've only ever done one FIRE engine head gasket and it was a doddle - well in the relms of a DIY mechanic. I plan on doing one on my mk2 and priced up the parts for under £60 and that's for thermostat and head bolts. It's one of the reasons I love this engine - it's ease of maintainance even for the novice

Also I never thought about leaving the manifold on I may give that a try (y)
