Does the solenoid get blocked again, it's not unusual to have to clean it several times after major head work

I would expect P0011 more than P0016 for a blocked solenoid filter though

If you are 100% the timing. Is correct, and the timing was slightly out originally you can do a phonics relearn

I am trying to avoid this at the moment as the engine has to be warm and able to rev high three times
Sorry to bother — is it okay to leave the radiator flush additive and the water in the coolant system until tomorrow?

I should have waited, but I dont want to empty it after it’s just had water in it for it to rust again

Also, would it be okay to soak the VVT in brake cleaner for a while?
No idea

I wouldn't without knowing more

You can test the vvt system via software

And actuator tests

It's going to depend on brand, normally there's a maximum of 6 hours, but that's warm

I’ve dealt with the coolant system, even parked a bit uphill to try bleeding it, but it seems like it’s only taking 3.5—4 liters of coolant when I think it’s supposed to take 4.7

Any thoughts?

You will never get all the coolant out of the system .....so a drain and refill will always be less than book spec.

Every day is a day at school!😅

Just did the procedure according to the elearn and I’ll go check the levels in an hour or so

Still getting the p0016 code, but I’ll se what happens at the weekend when I change the oil

Thank you all so much again — did the procedure and seems to be going beautifully (no gurgling under the dash when I first hit the gas) and the temp gauge is looking how it should!

I’m going to try to change the oil and filter this weekend, and I’m going to reclean the VVT and see if I still get the p0016
