I'm gonna cut a few holes in my parcel shelf in order to fit my 6x9s. We're limited on tools here as I cant be arsed forkin out on them and mother, well, mother's a woman and women don't do tools right? Just wondering what's the best method to cut em up?

Also Kev's put the shits up me about people seeing em and nickin them and was thinking of spraying the speaker mesh cover with a similar colour to the shelf to camoflage them. What you reckon?

Aye but have you seen the price? I'm not looking to spend shed loads on my car because, well, I don't have alot of money lol.

Get a piece of MDF and attatch it to your original shelf...

Or make your own shelf with some MDF and some fabric. (All you would need is a pencil, scroll saw, some fabric and some glue.)

spraying the same colour will not work, people will still see it. Don't bother hacking the original shelf, it's not strong enough to take speakers and will just move or rattle.

Get a piece of 3/4" MDF from B&Q for under £10 and a jigsaw for £10, draw round the old one, cut it out.

Some 6x9's come with an extra mount so that the speakers can be mounted under the shelf. cut out for this then get either a piece of bass box carpet from waxacar or similar for £5 and cover the whole thing.

Or, make one of these;
