Hi there, new to the forum, mates just picked up a 2001 fiat ducato camper, it's meant to have a 2.8 na diesel. It doesn't lol.
The oil filters too small the sump plugs a different size and it has a turbo!

It looks too small to be a 2.8, it looks like a sohc and 8/12 valve.
I've attached a pic of the engine, the compatible oil filter and compatible sump plug, thank's for your help! Graham

Brilliant cheers mate, engine could be any age tbh it left the factory with the na 2.8 but the previous owners aren't answering calls or texts and there's not a 2.8 in there now lol! Do fiat stamp their engines anywhere in particular? That would be a sure way of me knowing for definite

...I was just going down the same path trying to work out whether it looked "common rail" or not from the picture, and coming up with the same conclusion.

On certain sites, if I research the oil-filter it shows that one for the 2.0JTD only, but on others, it has it for both the 2.0 and 1.9.

Nicely done! Not even a fiat engine haha. Yeah looked at that 2.8 na! Only makes 86hp!! That 1.9 fiat engine they put in the Astra the z19dth makes 150 stock and mapped will see it hit 200!

The ducato gearbox stared out as a citroen box in something like 1965 so would love to hear if the ducato box goes onto it without an adapter or maybe the ducato driveshafts go onto the citroen box, more likely they've had driveshafts made up

I'll take a few pics from different angles when I get the chance and post them up to this thread so you can all take a look at what they've done, really appreciate all the help though!
